my nano and fbsd

today i tried to get my little nano working with my little laptop. the laptop is a little bit old already (p3-900mhz) but runs fbsd just fine. since i am kind of lazy and love freebsd-update i dont want to touch/change my kernel. so, trying out some advices the system didnt recognize the ipod. damn. but i dont want to touch my kernel. the laptop supports only usb1 ports, the display of the nano just lightens up and then goes dark again. mhhh ... mysterious. then i tried to connect the usb2 hub for my desktop to the laptop .. surprise surprise. it not even detected the rumblepad i need for trackmania (sigh) but also the nano. maybe its just a power issue with the old usb1 of my laptop. anyway, now i need a pcmcia usb2 port from somewhere .)
