the "secret" muse and the admiral

last thursday i managed to get my hands on 2 tickets for the "secret" (aka shortly announced and only 1000 people or so) live show of muse. yesterday my gf and i went to berlin to the admiralspalast. doors opened around 19:30, show started at 21:00.

some of the crazy fans missed a lot of the concert because all they did was starring at their cameras and mobile phones but if they wouldnt ... who would put this or this stuff up?

after a micro pause muse came back onto stage and finished their set with
"plugin baby" and ... much more interesting "man with harmonica" (of "once upon a time in the west" fame), followed directly by an amazing version of "knights of cydonia".

anyway, great evening

*update*

on musewiki.org exists a good description of what was said, played, by whom (hint: the keyboard sounded somewhat ninshy :)) ... anyway, check it out: admiralspalast.

<Guo_Si> Hey, you know what sucks?
<TheXPhial> vaccuums
<Guo_Si> Hey, you know what sucks in a metaphorical sense?
<TheXPhial> black holes
<Guo_Si> Hey, you know what just isn't cool?
<TheXPhial> lava?

surprising art in july

after some pretty intense weeks @ work (thanx to http://victory-eu.org), i am now chilling down towards vacation ... by going to the cinema again (funny "hangover" .. and no, thats not what i want to point out with this post), watching dvds and reading books.

when fiddling through the mass of dvds available at the 24h-video-rental downstairs, a pretty fucked up jcvd looked back at me from one of the dvds .. and got me interested. not because i love watching jcvd in general but because i got a "woha, he is still alive??" moment. some days later i read an interesting article(german) about b-movie actors and jcvd beeing just on the edge between "a" and "b". anyway, the movie "jcvd" is a pretty nice piece of work... nothing one would expect of an actor like mr. van damme.

the other suprising art i enjoy at the moment is reading night train to lissabon.

alock rXY .. darn, these mercurial commits :)

since the day google announced its support for mercurial on googlecode.com i was looking forward to convert the alock-repository from svn to mercurial. well, actually i looked forward to it even longer.

as today the alock-repository is controlled by mercurial. may the source be with you.

hg clone https://alock.googlecode.com/hg/ alock

alock r94

one month ago i released r90, mainly because i used the xf86misc-extension to disable some way to bypass alock ("AllowDeactivateGrabs" and friends). but in current xorg-servers these bypassing mechanisms and the xf86misc-extension is gone completly ... narf

so, here it is: revision 94 of alock.

have fun and thanx to the reporters of the problem.
